Our Leading First Aid for Mental Health course will essentially cover the content from the First Aid for Mental Health course in addition to being able to describe the support and therapy provided by professional health care providers as well as describe the characteristics, including signs and/or symptoms, of each of the following mental health conditions:
This qualification is valid for 3 years but it is strongly recommended to attend annual refresher training. The minimum age to attend this course is 16.
This course is assessed through two written assessment papers and a practical demonstration of the first aid action plan for mental health. Candidates will need to pass both of these aspects to achieve the qualification.

Our Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course is suitable for everyone. It provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of suspected mental health conditions, the skills to start a supportive conversation and when/how to signpost a person towards professional help.
