He’s looking forward to getting stuck into a new sector and learning more about the world of health, safety and workplace wellbeing, while helping showcase the knowledge and expertise across the Amalgamate team.

We asked Mark a few questions about his role, the experience he brings and what he’s looking forward to at Amalgamate. Read his answers below.

Great to have you with us, Mark.

What’s your role at Amalgamate, and what will you be focusing on?

I’ve joined Amalgamate as Marketing Manager, working across both the Amalgamate and Homesafe brands.

My focus will be on developing both brands, understanding new markets and helping Amalgamate continue to grow into new sectors. I’ll also be looking at how we communicate what we do and make sure the expertise across the business comes through clearly.

What experience or expertise are you bringing to the team?

I have a degree in marketing and have worked across a number of different industries, including construction, professional services and product design.

I actually started my career in IT sales with Hewlett Packard Enterprise before moving into marketing. Working across different sectors has given me a broad perspective and taught me the importance of really understanding a market, its customers and what matters to them.

What are you most looking forward to about joining Amalgamate?

I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into a completely new sector and learning from the experience across the team.

Health, safety and wellbeing at work are incredibly important, particularly in the world we work in today, so I’m looking forward to understanding the challenges our clients face and helping communicate the value of the work Amalgamate and Homesafe 360 do.

I’m also excited about the opportunity to help both brands develop and support Amalgamate as it continues to grow into new sectors.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I occasionally compete in HYROX events and really enjoy the challenge of trying to beat my previous time.

I can be quite competitive, although most of the time I’m competing with myself!

Welcome to Lucy!

Lucy Bowie joined Amalgamate in May as a Health & Safety Advisor, bringing experience from the brewing and distilling sectors and a strong understanding of high-risk manufacturing and production environments.

Lucy’s approach is practical: understand the risk, make sure the right controls are in place and, importantly, make sure they work for the people expected to follow them.

Her experience includes critical risk management, accident and incident investigation, DSEAR and COMAH requirements. She’ll be working alongside our clients to understand the challenges they are dealing with and find clear, workable ways to improve safety in practice.

Lucy is also looking forward to working across a wider range of sectors, sharing her experience and learning from the rest of the Amalgamate team.

We asked Lucy a few questions about her role, the experience she brings and what she’s looking forward to at Amalgamate — read her answers below.

Great to have you with us, Lucy.

What’s your role at Amalgamate, and what will you be focusing on?

I joined Amalgamate as a Health & Safety Advisor, supporting our clients with practical advice and guidance. I enjoy building strong relationships, understanding their challenges and finding simple, effective solutions that help create a positive and safe working environment

What experience or expertise are you bringing to the team?

I’ve worked across the brewing and distilling sectors, so I’m comfortable working in high-risk manufacturing and production environments. I take a practical and engaging approach to health and safety, helping people understand the risks they face and, importantly, how to manage them in a way that works for them. I have a particular focus on critical risks where things can go seriously wrong, helping clients put the right controls in place and make sure they are understood and followed. I also have experience carrying out accident and incident investigations, looking beyond what happened to understand why it happened and what can be done to prevent it happening again. Alongside this, I have experience with DSEAR and COMAH requirements.

What are you most looking forward to about joining Amalgamate?

I’m really looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to Amalgamate, while also learning from the experienced consultants across the team. I’m excited about the opportunity to work across different sectors, broaden my experience and share ideas with others. I think it’s a great chance to develop further while also bringing something valuable to the team and our clients.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I’m a big dog lover and probably spend too much time talking about my dog!
